Practicing Islam (deen) in today’s world comes with a huge set of challenges. As parents, you might be constantly worried about your children and how they would grow up to be. “Will they stick to the path of righteousness in an age filled with fitna and deception,” you might wonder.

From a different perspective, as youngsters, you might be worried about finding it hard to stay within the limits of the shariah and not enter the haram zone, even though it is alluring on many levels.

Irrespective of whether you are young or old, difficulties faced in our private and public lives makes us precariously stand between deen and dunya.

What should be our ultimate preference? How do we manage and balance both without letting one overtake the other?

Please share your thoughts in the comments section below, so that we can share our experiences and work for the better, together in shaa Allah!

First of all I will like to say that we should seek the help of Allah on this matter and then we should try as much as possible to strike a balance between the two. Also in that regard we should know that we were not meant to be prefect because the devil is always toying with our heart and we should try as much as possible to reflect upon our day and know our weakness and improve on them.

it’s one matter that always makes me worried especially when I see muslim youth in the community and the actions they engage themselves in. I’m currently a university students and I’ve seen “things”. it’s really hard to stick to Islamic values cause we as humans (myself included) are so affected by what people think of us, we want to be accepted by the community and being a muslim just makes this more difficult. This is when you see muslim youth (I’m stressing on youths cause I’m also one) compromising on their deen, their balance shifts towards the dunya at the expense of their deen. By Allah it’s really not easy, like that phrase that goes “easier said than done”. it’s only easy if Allah makes it easy. May Allah help us find the perfect balance for our deen and dunya. Aameen
