One of the five questions that we will be asked before intercession is: “What did we do with our knowledge?”
Can you please explain the correct way to use our knowledge?
Abu Barzah al-Aslami narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The feet of the slave of Allah shall not move [on the Day of Judgment] until he is asked: about his life and what he did with it, about his knowledge and what he did with it, about his wealth and how he earned it and where he spent it on, about his body and for what did he wear it out.”
The Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned that the feet of the son of Adam will not move until he is asked five questions. One of these five questions is about knowledge: ‘What did you do with the knowledge that Allah gave you?’ Firstly, did you implement the knowledge that Allah gave you in your personal life, or did you act contrary to it? Secondly, the knowledge that you were given, did you implement it in terms of teaching it? Did you spread this knowledge beginning with those who are closest to you, your family members, then your relatives, then your community, and then the people of your country? This is the correct way of using knowledge, by firstly implementing it in your life and secondly by teaching it to others.
And Allah knows best.
