How many people claimed to be prophet/messenger of Allah as was prophesized by the Prophet (ﷺ)?
The Prophet (ﷺ) informed us that there will be at least thirty Dajjals who will appear before the final hour, each claiming to be Allah's messenger. There were men in the past who made this bizarre claim, such as Mirza Ghulam from India-Pakistan, Ali Shirazi from Iran, the Baha’i, Elijah Muhammad from USA, Rashad Khalifa, and Egyptian American. Also, there was an individual by the name Mahmoud Taha in Sudan in the 80’s who also claimed to be the messenger of Allah. With the advent of Islamic rule, he was executed. The false prophets started arising from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and increased during the uprising which took place in Arabia. There was Musailamah in the northeast, Al-Aswad Al-Anasi in the south, and also a female false prophet, Sajjah, who claimed to be a prophet. So, when we start counting the number of people who made this false claim, I am sure we are very close to the number 30.< Back to Questions
