What is the connecting or dividing line between Counselling and Coaching?
Which is considered more professional?
Counselling or therapy usually deals with healing emotional pain or conflict, and may involve going into one's past. Coaching, on the other hand, focuses on the present, and helps a person formulate goals or strategies that would help in his/her personal or work life.
The following website gives a good explanation on the difference between the two: http://www.vanessaemile.co.uk/pages/coach.html
Since both have their own specializations, one cannot say that one is more 'professional' than the other. It depends on each person's needs. However, Counsellors/therapists need to have a certain degree and specialization with training as opposed to coaches. < Back to QuestionsIf you liked the article, do leave a comment down below
