Allah says,
“And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."[1]
What rooh is being referred to in this ayah?
The letter ‘yaa’ in roohee is a possessive pronoun meaning ‘my, that is, ‘my spirit’.
‘My’ or any other possessive pronoun could be either in reference to something you own or is a part of your being; so I could say my car or my ear, the car is my possession but not part of me. Similarly we say the rooh is a creation of Allah and does not from a part of Allah.
