Charity removes Difficulty

Is it correct that giving of charity removes one's difficulties?

Yes, in shaa’ Allah along with:

  • Reciting the Qur’an (with understanding),
  • Establishing regular prayer and
  • Supplicating sincerely to Allah according to its conditions and rules.

There is no single authentic hadeeth which explicitly states that charity removes difficulties or lessens them, but the scholars have derived this understanding from a number of hadeeths.

For example there is a prophetic hadeeth which reads,

“Treat your sick by (spending in) charity.”[1]

Although all of its routes are weak on their own, al-Albaani graded it authentic due to the combined strength of its isnaads and supporting narrations.

Another hadeeth reads,

“Indeed, giving charity extinguishes the anger of your Lord.” [2]

And Allah knows best.
