By June, motivation pipes down and you realize most of what you had planned is still un-done, you’re falling back into old habits and well… Who cares anyway! It’s summer time so let’s just relax and enjoy it…. And it’s all fun and entertainment till the very serious month of September peeps in and you realize three quarters of the year had passed and you’re still the same… staring at your ‘I’m gonna be amazing’ list with one eye-brow up.
What could be better than being a true slave of Allah? One whom Allah loves and forgives? Our goal in this life is to embody the characteristics of the people of Paradise and become true believers, and as the Noble Qur'an is our ultimate source of guidance; we must extract the invaluable lessons from it and take heed of Allah's reminders.
One of my favorite quotes is by Barbara J. Winter: “When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: You will either be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.”
“Identity” is another name of friendship. A person can be defined by the qualities of the friends he or she chooses to be with. Friends circles and the people a person hangs out with, can evidently expose the likes, dislikes, preferences, life style, choices, behaviors, family backgrounds and most importantly his/ her religious stance to the outside world.
