Is there a prohibition by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) on sitting at a table where alcohol is consumed?
In the case of a convert Muslim whose parents drink alcohol with their meals, it is the norm. So does sitting at the table with them. Is this an exception that can be made in such a case? No, there is no exception.
Sitting at the table with them disobeys the instruction of Rasul Allah (ﷺ). You have to make clear to them that this is the issue of religion. It is not anything to do with how I feel about you. You are still my parents and we still love you, but it is prohibited in my religion to do that. Just as if you were hippies, and you are smoking and you offered me something to smoke along with you and I just would have to say No, thanks. I understand your good intention but you know it is prohibited for me in my religion.< Back to Questions
