Is the Mundir bin Zubair that is mentioned as a member of delegation from Madinah to Syria to meet Yazeed and also mentioned as the friend of Obaidullaah bin Zeyaad, the same person who is mentioned as the brother of Abdullaah bin Zubair and who fought along side with him when Haseen bin Numer attacked Makkah?
If yes, then can you please tell us more about him. Was he a Sahaabi as well, in that was he born in the life-time of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)?
I researched and could not find much about him. His biography in Siyar Alam An-Nubula by Imam Adh-Dhahabi is very brief.
It is mentioned that he was a full brother of Abdullah (same mother and father) and a Tabi'ee, who had some disputes with his brother and became a supporter of the Umayyads in the time of Muawiyah. He later changed positions and rejoined his brother just before the siege of Makkah. (Siyar Alam An-Nubulaa, Imam Dhahabi, vol. 3, p. 381)
This explains why he appears to be on both sides of the conflict at different points in time.
