Covering Haraam With Permissible Names

What is the meaning of the phrase ‘calling it by another name’ in the hadith of forbidding music in Sahih Bukhari?

How it is relevant to today’s time?

This strategy has always been common for people to legalize something which is prohibited; calling haraam things by other names. There are some intoxicants but people call it by other names. Some songs with musical instruments which are considered as nasheeds are assumed as permissible are actually haraam[1]
