Alliance by Foster Brothers

Was it a tradition in the pre-Islamic era that a foster/milk brother’s relationship established an alliance between people? If so, was there anything significant in those ties for Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ)?

In the Pre-Islamic era, a foster/milk relationship brought about a stronger alliance between the parties concerned and Islam then came to consolidate this notion by having specific laws in place regarding this relationship. There was nothing highly significant for the milk ties of the Prophet (ﷺ).
