Seeing that we are exposed to disturbing scenes every time we check the news, we have almost become desensitized to it. It is our duty to help those who are facing oppression, and they too expect our support, hence, we must not let them down. To give with all your might would be a gift for them, and a great reward for you from The One who does not forget!
Youth is the best time for striving to become like the young companions (RA) who had glowing Islamic identity and lived Islam practically in every aspect of their lives. They were engaged productively by a great model, mentor, leader and brother-in-Islam; Prophet Muhammad SAW.
I appreciated this verse in Ramadan, 2013. I was involved a car accident as we returned from the Mosque. SubhanAllah, our car was completely destroyed, but all of us miraculously survived. Profoundly, an ambulance was driving past as we emerged out of the car, terrified, but grateful.
Every Muslim is not shaped to go to Al-Azhar or Madinah University to pursue an Islamic career and learn the Islamic Sciences. We can benefit the Ummah by employing our own specializations and by being successful in that particular field. We have to identify our strengths and weaknesses.
