The very most important step to happiness is prayer. We have seen the evidence for this statement in the prayer of Prophet Ibrâhîm. It gives you the opportunity to experience moments without a care in the world. Put your trust in Allâh. We can read in the Qur’ân: “No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being - indeed that, for Allah , is easy” Qur’ân 57: 22
Crisis will come and go but your response - emotions, behaviour and actions - is what matters. Be a change agent, who uses crisis situations to model and advertise for Islam. Be an example and live according to the pure teachings of the Qur'an and sunnah when you deal with crisis.
One of my favorite quotes is by Barbara J. Winter: “When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: You will either be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.”
Remember, our dua’s do not go waste. Scholars have pointed out that when Muslims make dua’, it is heard and accepted but this acceptance, however, can be in a number of different ways. “Either Allaah will respond and fulfil the desire of the person who made the dua’, or He will ward off some evil from him because of the dua’, or He will make something good easy for him to attain because of it, or He will save it with Him for him on the Day of Resurrection when he will be most in need of it.
